Day 1
pre work
Brief
So we were told to make a 3D depiction of the half cut of the fruit or vegetable we were assigned in FVL module and it could be made with any medium other than clay.
The vegetable assigned to me was pumpkin i decided to make its outer shell with paper strips stuck together with the glue solution, then for the inner area i decided to use wax which is something I have never used to create something, for the seeds i decided to use the shells of pistachio.
Reference
The First Failed Attempt
For the first attempt the mold was the double the size of the reference pumpkin. The wax I melted was not evenly spread and the divider between the two paper bowls and the mold wasn't strong enough to hold the wax.
Mold
For the mold I used two balloons for giving it a shape of a pumpkin, i used paper strips for the mold and stuck them using the glue and water solution and let it dry up and it was easy outcome. Then i stuck the two paper "bowls" together to create the half pumpkin.
next I drew the pattern of the pumpkin skin and painted it with acrylic paints
inside the mold
i used wax for the first time it was a big challenge to control the melted wax and then after filling up the mold with the wax i added pistachio shells to depict the seeds of the pumpkin
Top
The top part of the pumpkin which is the left over part of the stem of the pumpkin. i made it with the foil and painted it with brown and black
Final Outcome
Day 2
form analysis
Brief
so we were supposed to now analyse are form now in a more in-depth manner and present it on paper.
I used water colours to depict the pumpkin as whole, slice and half cut, even the fibre attaching seeds with it capturing all of the details present and I used brush pen to show the geometric shapes present in different elements of the pumpkin
Day 3
form analysis 2
For the day 3 we made a 3d form analysis with sun board, creating panels, understanding the true form and size of the object.
